DATU RICH ACOSTA
Rich Acosta is the Chief Instructor of Kuntaw Kali
Kruzada. He has over 20 years experience in the
martial arts including Kali-Arnis-Eskrima, Kuntaw,
Chuan Fa, Jujutsu, Karate and Aikido under Maestro
Rico Acosta. He has also received private training in
the Philippines under some of the foremost experts of
the Filipino martial arts such as Grandmaster Vicente
Sanchez (Kali Arnis International Federation),
Grandmaster Samuel Bambit Dulay (IMAFP Modern Arnis)
and Grandmaster Jose G. Mena (Doblete Rapelon), and in
the U.S. under Punong Mataw Guro Louelle Lledo (Amara
Arkanis Sistemang Praksiyon).
He has written numerous articles on the Filipino martial arts, and has produced several DVDs on the Kuntaw Kali Kruzada system. On April 16, 2009, he was featured in a New York Times article on the martial arts, and on March 6, 2010 he was inducted into the UFOMA Hall of Fame, in recognition of his efforts to propagate the FMA here in the United States.
Datu Rich has been appointed Director of New York for Sword Stick Society International. He is also a representative of Kapatiran Mandirigma, a brotherhood of Filipino and Indonesian martial artists, and he is a member of the Philippine Council of Kali Escrima Arnis Masters.
Datu Rich Acosta is actively teaching group classes in NYC and NJ, as well as seminars, Instructor training programs and workshops around the country.
